Sumit Bharadwaaj

Sumit Bharadwaaj is an Indian actor and theatre artist making his debut as a filmmaker. A graduate in Screen Acting from the Tripura Film & Television Institute (2024), he has delivered over 300 stage performances over the course of seven years, establishing himself as a dedicated and versatile performer.

He has been actively involved in New Delhi's theatre circuit, working with reputed groups such as Pierrot's Troupe and Ashmita Theatre, and has appeared in notable stage productions including Ghalib in New Delhi, Akbar The Great Nahi Rahe, Sons of Babar, Lal Quila Ka Akhri Mushaira, Shatranj Ke Khiladi, and Amritsar Agaya. He continues to perform his solo act, Parchhaiyaan — a theatrical recitation of Sahir Ludhianvi's nazm of the same name. His theatrical journey has deeply shaped his cinematic sensitivity toward silence, rhythm, and human presence.

His debut film "A Day Unspoken" marks his transition from performer to filmmaker. Prior to directing, he has appeared as an actor in the diploma film Safarnama and the short film Aitraaf. He has also featured in five micro drama series — TRP (Truth Revenge Punishment), Psycho Couple, Maya Kaya, AK vs AK, and Badla Bhi Pyaar Bhi. Through his cinema and performances, he aims to illuminate lived human experiences and contribute meaningfully to world cinema.
