Mr Glenn Hayden has over four decades of experience in the performing arts as an actor, director, mentor, arts leader, community cultural development practitioner, and corporate trainer.
A graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (1986), he began as an actor before moving into directing with the 1996 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Since then he has directed more than 60 productions, commissioned over 35 new works, co-founded organisations including Perth's Blue Room Theatre, and led major community arts initiatives in Australia and internationally.
From 2004–2014 he served as Artistic Director and later AD/CEO of Adelaide's Urban Myth Theatre Company, earning national and international recognition. His award-winning Also a Mirror established Urban Myth as a hub for emerging artists. Glenn has maintained an extensive practice in India since 2009, directing classical and contemporary repertoire — Mrożek, Shakespeare, Yockey, Bartlett, and Australians Bovell, Cameron, and Duncan — at the Mumbai Royal Opera House, Prithvi Theatre, and G5A, and at festivals including TATA Literature Live! and Thespo.
He has delivered corporate theatre-based training for Mahindra Finance, Indian Oil, SHRM, and others. A dedicated educator, he developed programs including Actor's Toolbox, Actor in the Play, and Craft in Action.
